The Civil Aviation Agency received a special New Year greeting card from Paris - the Executive Secretary of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Salvatore Sakitano praised the efforts Dragan Djurovic, the director of the Agency, and his staff have invested in harmonizing the safety of air traffic in Montenegro with a key ECAC documents.

On November 14, 2011, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro Dragan Djurovic held a bilateral meeting with Matthias Reute, Director General for Transport and Transport (DG MOVE) in the European Commission.

The meeting was an opportunity for Mr. Djurovic to inform his interlocutor about the current situation in the field of civil aviation in Montenegro, as well as to present the activities of the Agency in the past period.

One of the topics discussed was the implementation of the 1st phase of the ECAA Agreement, which Montenegro is successfully finalizing, which will be the subject of a visit by the European Commission's experts, announced for the beginning of next year.

The High Level SSP Briefing was held in the Civil Aviation Agency on September 7, 2011. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Agency, the Assistant Minister of Transport, the directors of the Tivat airport and Podgorica, the accountable manager of Montenegro Airlines, the SMATSA representative and the representative of the Army of Montenegro.

The topic discussed was the State Safety Program (SSP) - National Security Program.

The SAA in practice is a set of regulations and activities to be implemented in order to improve air traffic safety through the creation of a sustainable and controlled national air traffic safety system.
