Announcement

On 28 November 2023 in Brussels, at the EUROCONTROL headquarters, the Acting Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro, Mileta Nikolic, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia, Mirjana Cizmarov, with the objective of mutual recognition of aviation security measures for One Stop Security programme, as well as the Protocol on Oversight Functions and Duties.

Signing the Memorandum of Understanding, that took place in presence of the Director General of the EUROCONTROL, Raul Medina Caballero, ensures that Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia can exempt from further control at Podgorica Airport and at Tivat Airport, as well as at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, transfer passengers and their cabin baggage, checked baggage and transfer cargo and mail that were transported from above mentioned airports.

The Protocol on Oversight Functions and Duties was also signed today in Brussels between Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia, enabling that the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia is released form the responsibility regarding functions and duties transferred to the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro. Scope of the Protocol is limited to aircraft types entered into civil aircraft registers of the Republic of Serbia operated by operators whose head registered office is in Montenegro.

Acting Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Mr. Mileta Nikolic, also attended the ceremony of Signing the Memorandum of Understanding of the Regional Aeronautical Search and Rescue Advisory Committee  (RASARAC), regarding the accession of Bulgaria and Albania as new members. In the presence of all RASARAC Member States the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Director General of the EUROCONTROL, Mr. Raul Medina Caballero, and directors of the civil aviation authorities of Albania and Bulgaria.
