
Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Ivan Šćekić, is an appointed member of the JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO) Foundation Board, so Montenegro got its representative in the governing structure of the European aviation body.
The European recognition for acknowledgement and results of the work of the Agency and its Director comes after the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Coordinating Committee appointed Šćekić as a member of the JAA TO Foundation Board, one of the most important European organisations for training and development of human resources in civil aviation.
This membership was published at the meeting of the directors general of civil aviation authorities – ECAC Member States, that took place on 19 May in Marseille.
Director of the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority, Maksim Ethemaj, is also the newly appointed, and the highest representatives of aviation authorities of Malta and Portugal are in the Board as well.
Šćekić is a graduated engineer of air transport and traffic, with more than 15 years of professional experience in aviation. Apart from professional references, he is exceptionally well acquainted with activities of the civil aviation authority both on national and international level.
He is dedicated to strengthening aviation safety and security, and covers the position of head of the Agency for two years. He places special emphasis on professional development of employees, development and strengthening human resources in civil aviation.
JAA TO is the ECAC associated body with over 50 years of experience in training of aviation industry and national authorities in the area of air transport. The organisation holds Training Centre of Excellence (TCE) status within the ICAO system of civil aviation training and international standards.
