Director of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA), Ivan Scekic and Director General of the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Raúl Medina Caballero had a conversation in Brussels with multiple topics from this area.
The collocutors exchanged opinions on current situation and development of air transport, as well as on strengthening successful cooperation between Montenegrin Agency and one of the most important organisations.
The Director General of the EUROCONTROL expressed his congratulations regarding the election of the Director of the CAA, noting joint appraisal of significant progress of the State in the area of civil aviation, such as introduction of Free Route Airspace and datalink service.
Scekic pointed out results of numerous international controls that measured the efficiency of the Agency, and verified successful implementation of the European standards in civil aviation.
Medina Caballero expressed his thanks to Montenegro for active participation in all areas within the development of air navigation system in its space and wider.
Scekic emphasised the importance of support by the EUROCONTROL, where Montenegro is a full pledge Member State since July 2007, to the activities of the Agency for improvement of civil aviation and for strengthening air navigation safety system.
The regular session of the EUROCONTROL Provisional Council is taking place in Brussels, and the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro is one of the attendees, together with his associate in charge for international cooperation, Marijana Vukcevic.
Topic of the session is enabling of the airspace efficiency during summer through timely planning and coordination, and all aviation stakeholders are encouraged to engage in that.
The focus was on resolving challenges caused by military activities, big sport events such as the UEFA EURO 2024 and Olympic Games, as well as appropriate management of adverse meteorological conditions, in order to reduce disturbances in traffic network.
