Šćekić: The Agency's control mechanism has been strengthened

Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro, Ivan Scekic, spoke about results and forthcoming priorities of the institution.

In the interview for Mina-Business Agency, Scekic stated that Montenegro notes impressive results in application of the highest aviation standards, which is of particular importance for citizens, country and its European path.

He emphasised the importance of strengthening control mechanism of aviation authority – oversights and inspections are intensified, as well as attracting staff with aviation experience, Another emphasised matter is support of the European partners to “organisational and financial independence of the Agency”, which is not funded from the budget of Montenegro.

Montenegro applies strict aviation standards

Montenegro applies strict standards in area of air transport and makes reliable partner to the European and international community.

That was stated by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Mr. Ivan Scekic, on the occasion of 7th December – the International Civil Aviation Day.

“Through consistent application of regulations and regulatory competences, through strengthening staff with aviation experience, and particularly through strengthening control mechanism, the Agency confirms its role in preserving and improving national aviation system. Montenegro is dedicated to the European objectives and cooperation with the EUROCONTROL

Representatives of the European civil aviation authorities held a meeting in Brussels on 27 November 2025 and had discussions on challenges and priorities for development of the European air transport.

Numerous topics were discussed at the 64th Provisional Council (PC) of EUROCONTROL. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Mr. Ivan Scekic, which stands as a message that Montenegro remains completely committed to implementation of common European objectives and active participation with the EUROCONTROL.

PC/64 was addressing, among other things, the report of the Director General and review of strategic priorities, the new “Trajectory 2030” strategy that is a long-term plan of development of the European airspace, budget and preparations... OPŠIRNIJE
